AWT (acoustic wave therapy) has been used in medicine since 1980 for fragmenting kidney stones and since 1992 for Orthopaedic conditions. It is now used cosmetically for treatment of cellulite.

Everyone can have cellulite!  It has nothing to do with weight. Enlarged fat cells under the skin exert pressure on the circulatory system, which causes a slow intake of nutrients and decreased drainage of waste products. Stiffening of the connective tissue pulls the skin down while at the same time enlarged fat cells push the skin up causing the dimpled appearance on the skin known as cellulite.

 

AWT vibrates the connective tissue to stretch it and increase elasticity. It also increases the development of capillaries in the body tissue, which allows a greater intake of nutrients and increased drainage of waste  products.

In addition, it produces an inflammatory reaction that results in the deposit of thicker collagen in the upper and mid layers of the skin.
